Membership Types

The “New Two” membership encourages friends to join the club together. Both individuals must be new DAC members and 18 years or older. Current or former members cannot take advantage of the “New Two” option. If one of the “New Two” cancels their membership, the other individual will automatically be converted to an individual membership.

A Family membership includes all children under the age of 26 living in the same household.

Married couples must provide proof of marriage and evidence they are living in the same household. This can be a marriage license, a bill with both names on it, or driver licenses with the same address.

Enrollment Fee

Except as specifically provided herein, the enrollment fee is non-refundable. However, you have the option of
applying your enrollment fee toward your last month’s membership dues once you inform DAC you would like to
terminate your membership. The enrollment fee cannot be refunded to replace monthly membership dues that
have already been paid.

Guest Fees

A member may bring guests to DAC upon paying a daily guest fee as established by DAC.

Billing

  • The monthly membership due must be taken electronically from either a credit card, debit card, checking account, or savings account.
  • The annual fee can be paid with a credit card, debit card, or personal check.
  • If paying with a credit card, a 3% service fee will be applied to the charge.
  • Monthly membership will be billed on the first day of each month.
  • If the payment does not go through on the first, the member will be charged a $25 decline fee and the member will be restricted at check-in until the balance is paid.
  • If the monthly dues are charged on a credit card and declined, then another attempt will be made on the fifth of the month.
  • If the monthly dues are drawn from a bank account and declined, then another attempt will be made on the tenth of the month.
  • If the member still has late charges on the 18th of the month, the member will be charged an additional $25 late fee.
  • A member is not allowed to participate in programs or use the facilities until unpaid balances are paid in full.
  • If your account is past due it may be turned over to a collection agency.
  • If your account is not paid in full and this account is turned over to a collection agency and/or attorney, then you agree to be responsible for all reasonable fees necessary for the collections of the delinquent account including, but not limited to, collection agency fees for 50% of the balance due and cost and reasonable attorney’s fee of 33% of the balance.

Contract Completion

Once an individual starts a monthly contract, the member’s rates will not change during the time of the contract. Once the monthly contract period is complete, the membership will automatically roll into a month-to-month format with the same monthly rate. It is the responsibility of the member to cancel their membership.

After the monthly contract period is completed and the member is currently in the month-to-month format, if DAC has increased the rates for that respective membership option, then the member will be informed prior to a higher monthly membership rate being applied (such rate may not exceed 110%) of the rate the member was paying at the time the original contract period ended.

After the monthly contract period is completed, a member may enter a new contract period for another option. The terms of the new option apply. The enrollment fee will be appropriately adjusted, if necessary.

Once the initial contract period has been completed, it is the responsibility of the member to cancel their membership. If the membership is cancelled prior to the first of a month, then they will not be charged for an additional month. However, assuming there are no outstanding balances, the member may use their enrollment fee to get an additional month of access for free.

Early Cancellation

Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, if a member needs to terminate their 4- or 12-month contract before it is completed, then the member will be charged a $200 cancellation fee.

Putting on a Hold

There are times a member may need to put their membership on hold because they, say, plan on being out of state for an extended period.

If a member has a monthly contract, they can put their membership on hold for up to three months in one year. There is a hold fee per month depending on the membership type:

  • $10 Individual, Parent Plus, Senior Individual, & “New Two”
  • $15 Married Couple & Senior Married Couple
  • $20 Family

Those months do not count toward the initial completion of a 4- or 12-month contract period.

Upgrade

If a member is currently in the 4- or 12-month contract period and decides they want to upgrade to another option, then they may without being required to pay the early cancellation fee. The upgrade would start the “calendar” over and the enrollment fee would be appropriately adjusted. An upgrade is defined as either a longer contract period for the same membership or moving to an option that has a higher monthly fee.

Medical Freeze

If a membership needs to be put on freeze for medical reasons, the member needs to provide DAC with a doctor’s note every three months to stay on a freeze unless the original note states how long. For a medical freeze, there is no hold fee applied.

Military Service

If a member is relocated out of the area due to military service, then the member can cancel their membership or put it on hold and there will be no hold fees or cancellation charges applied. Evidence of the military’s actions for the move or deployment needs to be provided. Upon cancellation due to such relocation, any prepaid fees shall be reimbursed in accordance with the terms of this contract.
